Influenza: Signs and Symptoms, Prevention, Treatment

Influenza (trangkaso) – upper respiratory infection.

It is a viral infection that affects mainly the nose, throat, bronchi and, occasionally, lungs.

Causative Agent:  Flu Virusinfluenza virus

Incubation Period: 1 to 3 days

Signs and Symptoms:

  • Red / watery eyes
  • Fever and chills

Complications:

  • Pneumonia
  • Brain damage
  • Respiratory tract infection

Prevention:

  • Avoid crowded places
  • Isolate the patient
  • Avoid using the utensils of the patient

Treatment:

  • Take plenty of rest
  • Exercise
  • Drink plenty of fluid
  • Anti-fever medicine
