Measles (tigdas) – it is a highly contagious respiratory infection that’s caused by a virus.

Causative Agent:  Rubeola / Morbillimeasles

Incubation Period: 1 to 2 weeks

Signs and Symptoms:

  • Skin rash (koplitis spots)
  • Flu / fever
  • Cough
  • Runny nose

Complications:

  • Convulsion
  • Bronchitis

Mode of Transmission:

  • Direct contact
  • Indirect contact
  • Air-borne transmission

Diagnostic Test:

  • Blood test
  • Nose and throat swamps

Prevention:

  • Plenty of rest
  • Used prescribed eye drop
  • Take plenty of water / fruit juices
  • Apply herbal medicine
  • Cough syrup

Treatment:

  • Vaccination
  • Isolate the patient
