Brass Section

Trumpet has a firm, brilliant tone.  When played softly, it produces a sweet, liquid sound.  It is the soprano of the brass section.

  French horn is often played with the right hand inside the bell. It has a warm, majestic tone quality.  It is also said to be the most difficult instrument to play.

Trombone combines the qualities of the trumpet and horn.  The trombone has a movable U-shaped slide instead of valves which, when moved in and out shortens and lengthens the tube.  Only the trombone is capable of playing a wide range of tone until the invention of values.

Tuba, serves as the bass voice of the brass section. Its deep resonant quality gives body to the sound.
