Standing Long Jump

| February 15, 2009 | 1 Comment

This is a test to measure leg power.  It can be done on the floor, on a turf of any flat surface.  The following materials are needed in this test, tape measure, ruler or any piece of wood.

Procedure:

  1. Draw a take off line and attach a tape measure to it with the o mark in line with the take off line.
  2. Let the performer stand at the back of the offline, with feet few inches apart.
  3. Let the performer jump forward as far as possible, taking off and landing on both feet.  Swinging of the arms and bending of the knees are permissible.
  4. The buddy marks the distance covered by the performer basing the mark on the heel of the foot closer to the take off line.
  5. Another trial is taken by the performer so the buddy makes another mark in the jumping area.
  6. The buddy now measures the distance of the longer jump and records this in centimeters.
  7. The performer exchanges role with his/her buddy.

Note:    The performer should take his jumps in succession.
