Sacrament is a formal religious act conferring a specific grace upon those who receive it.  Grace meaning health, wellness, patience, communication, understanding, acceptance and all of those good things that your faith provides for you.

The 7 Sacraments

Sacraments of Initiation

 

Baptism               

·        To become a Child of God

·        Our sins are washed away, and this is the beginning of our   membership in the life of the church.

 

Eucharist             

·        To be nourished at the Table of the Lord

·        We celebrate the Lord’s Supper and remember God’s love through Jesus’ life, death and resurrection.

 

Confirmation                   

·        To become a Soldier and a Witness for Christ

·        We are sealed with the Holy Spirit.

 

 

 

Sacraments of Healing

 

Reconciliation     

·        To become reconciled to God, the Church, others and self

·        Also known as confession or penance, through reconciliation God forgives us for our sins.

 

Anointing of the sick                   

·        To receive His Strength in time of distress

·        Christ heals us and raises us up from our infirmities.

 

 

 

Sacraments of Service

 

Matrimony          

·        One man and one woman leave father and mother and become ONE before God.  What God has joined, man must not put asunder

 

Holy Orders                    

·        To become the Servant of the People of God
